Endurance tests are designed to subject the component to
conditions such as extreme temperatures, extreme temperature
variations, and moisture-condensing or moisture-saturated environments.
For example, temperature cycling can fatigue joints of different
materials and cause them to fail. Other endurance tests such
as HAST and bias aging are useful in accelerating existing failure
mechanisms thereby simulating long-term, real-life operations
in a span of hours or days. Silicon Cert offers the
following endurance tests to standards such as Telcordia (BellCore),
JEDEC, MIL-STD, and Automotive Electronics Council (AEC-Q100).
