Silicon Cert (SCL), incorporated in 1998, was founded by
a group of former Lucent/Bell Labs scientists who have spent
their technical careers in all areas of integrated circuit and
optoelectronic component design, manufacturing, and testing.
As a result of AT&T’s mid-1997 sale of its underseas
telephone cable division to Tyco International, a need arose
to relocate the component certification testing equipment
to another facility. Having experience at conducting these
rigorous and demanding certification tests, Silicon Cert was
formed to continue this testing on behalf of Tyco International.
Expansion occurred in 1999 to meet Tyco’s request to
repair their land-based circuit packs. SCL is one of only
two companies with the expertise to perform these repairs.
As a result of our AT&T/Lucent heritage and our fundamental
interest in quality, Silicon Cert’s quality management
system led to first achieving ISO certification in 2000. SCL
is currently registered through DNV as being certified to
ISO 9001:2000.
A second expansion took place in 2001 to accommodate a need
for additional test facilities. Since that
expansion, SCL has continued to widen our testing and analytical
service offerings. Today SCL serves clients ranging from start-ups
to large corporations, on a local, regional, national, and
international level.
